This street is the monument to the "righteous of France", and is France's Holocaust Memorial. On the wall in the background are listed the names of French Jews who perished in the Nazi death camps and of the French who risked their lives to save their fellow citizens from this fate. The Marais was the location of the historic Jewish quarter of Paris.
