The famous Blue Lagoon spa gets its utterly addictive hot saline water from this plant. Such plants have to have cooling ponds for their downstream process water/condensed steam. The Blue Lagoon (and Myvatn Nature Baths in Myvatn) exploits this "industrial effluent" to squeeze extra revenue out of the geothermal energy!
