Urriðafoss on the Þjórsa river
The Þjórsa river is the longest Icelandic river and one of the largest rivers in the south of Iceland, emanating from the east side of Hofjökull glacier. As a result, the Urriðafoss falls, off Rte 1 halfway between Selfoss and Hella, are among the most high-volume falls in Iceland, though far from being the highest or most spectacular.
