Skútustaðagígar pseudocraters, Myvatn
Pseudocraters are not true volcanic craters that spewed forth lava, but were formed by steam explosions when lava flowed over marshes or bogs. Skútustaðagígar, on the south shore of Myvatn has a large collection of pseudo craters that are protected as a national monument.
