Chelsea Market is a covered market on the ground floor of the former Nabisco (National Biscuit Co.) factory in the Meatpacking District of NYC, beside the West Village. The Oreo cookie was invented here, so it is hallowed ground indeed! There are numerous food stores (ethnic groceries, bakeries, a fishmonger, a butcher, a wine shop, etc.), a professional kitchen equipment store, cafes and restaurants here. On upper floors there are offices and studios for various culinary-related media outlets (Food Network, Martha Stewart, etc).
