Navajo Bridge foundation plaque

George W.P. Hunt, the first Governor of Arizona, was an early (and often, serving 7 terms between 1912 and 1933) Progressive Era Governor, responsible for helping establish Arizona as the 48th state. Today, he would be called a liberal.
