In February 5-10 2010, the Washington metro area and the Mid-Atlantic were visited by 2 major snowstorms in 4 days. The first dumped 24 inches in our neighborhood in Bethesda, the second was a true blizzard and gave us another 12 inches. The first storm was dubbed Snowmageddon, the second was named Snowmageddon 2.0, or Snoverkill. Along with previous snowfalls, especially our Dec 2009 storm, these storms have made 2009/2010 the snowiest winter on record in Washington, Baltimore and Philadelphia. It smashed the 111-year record for Washington DC. We have accumulated 76 inches in our backyard so far, and we still have about a month of possible snow season to go...
