Hraundrangi is one of Iceland's national icons. It has inspired poetry and architecture. Jonas Hallgrimsson, one of Iceland favourite poets, was born on a farm close by and the design of Reykjavik's Hallgrimskirkja church echoes the shape of this jagged peak.
