The Burroughs Mountain trail at the Sunrise unit of the Mount Rainier National Park takes the hiker up to about the 7400 foot elevation on Second Burroughs Mt. It provides a stupendous view of the east side of Mt Rainier. Early to mid-season hikers (up to mid-late July!) should come prepared with poles and yaktraks as there are tricky snowfields to cross on the way up and down. It was easily one of the top highlights of our Northwest vacation in 2010.
