Duck boat at Jokulsarlon, S. Iceland
Jokulsarlon is a glacial lagoon in front of the Brei∂amerkurjokull glacier. Icebergs calve off the glacier face and begin to melt in the lake. These icebergs then float about the lake and then may be carried by the strong current through the outlet and into the sea. Many are washed back to the beach by wind and tide. Jokulsarlon is a big tourist site where visitors can take a duck boat on the lagoon to see the icebergs up close. The blue jacketed people are all cruise tourists from the good ship "Fram".
